for the NJ Governor’s Volunteerism Award
Zooming Thru Music is proud and deeply honored to share that we have been selected a Medalist for the New Jersey Governor’s Volunteerism Award in the Volunteer Group category. This meaningful recognition celebrates the dedication, compassion, and service of our student volunteers, who use music, friendship, and connection to bring joy and encouragement to people who may feel isolated.
We are sincerely grateful to Mayor Vergano and the Township of Wayne for recognizing Zooming Thru Music and supporting our nomination. We also thank our volunteers, families, community partners, and supporters, whose time, talent, and encouragement make this work possible. This honor belongs to every volunteer who has shared a musical performance, written a thoughtful message, participated in a service project, or helped someone feel seen and valued. Their efforts show that young people can make a meaningful and lasting difference in their communities.
We are thankful to be recognized among so many individuals and organizations committed to service across New Jersey. Zooming Thru Music looks forward to continuing our mission of sharing music, kindness, friendship, and hope.
The NJ Governor’s Volunteerism Award ceremony will be held on Sunday, October 18, at 1:00 p.m. in Hamilton Township, New Jersey.

Led by the students of the Bergen County chapter of Zooming Thru Music Inc, we hosted a benefit concert in the summer of 2026 in support of the Bergen CASA branch.
Since 2020, Zooming Thru Music has turned isolation into inspiration—using the power of music to reach hearts and lift spirits during one of the most challenging times in recent history. Born out of quarantine and driven by compassion, we united students across the East Coast to deliver virtual performances to those most impacted by loneliness: nursing home residents, those incarcerated, children in care, and many others who live disconnected from the outside world.
Now, as we celebrate five years of service, we honor every note played, every smile shared, and every connection made. What started as a response to a moment of crisis has grown into a joyful movement—one fueled by creativity, empathy, and community.
Thank you to all our volunteers, supporters, and audience members. Here’s to five years of bringing people together—and to many more years of making music that matters.
Over the past years, Zooming Thru Music has made remarkable strides in generating community support through diverse fundraising initiatives. Collectively, we have raised $81,864, enabling us to sustain and expand our outreach programs that bring hope and connection to those we serve.
